Christmas

Christmas, what a wonderful time of the year!! This has been the first year that Dan and I have spent Christmas with just our little family and what fun it was. On Christmas Eve we went for a little drive to look at all the wonderful lights and of course we took a pic of ours. This was actually the first year that we have ever decorated the outside of our house. It was fun(for Dan) getting on the roof and putting the strings of lights up. This year we only did the front and we had a little tree in the front with a star!! I use enthusiasim here because Jace loves to see and say star. On Christmas morning I got up at 6:30 to make homemade cinnomon rolls

from scratch we then waited for Jace to wake up which was around 7:30. Now I must tell you that he was not a happy camper when he woke. I thought that since I had a long break off from work I would try to rid him of his bottle and pacifier. Well what do you know Jace woke up screaming for a bottle or ba ba, bink, and blanket which he calls it his gink. Ah the joys of comforts we felt bad so first we set him on the couch turned on some mickey mouse(which is his favorite) and let him have all three!! After that he seemed to do a little better, I think there was just way to much going on we had music going, I was trying to get pictures, paper was being torn, and of course the dog was trying to eat everything! Then our friends came over to wish us a Merry Christmas and while they were here a special vistor arrived!! Who would of thought that Santa would come to the Dunns house. Boy Jace must have really been good this year because I know he would not have come if it was just Dan and I. Jace loved santa he brought him some fun gifts to be exact he brought a ball, a book with mickey mouse of course, and some play dough. Santa really knows Jace so for those of you reading this he does really see us throughout the year!!! After all the excitment of new toys and of course Santa we put Jace to bed for a much needed nap. Now just so everyone is clear we have had little to no snow the weather on Christmas day was almost fifty with little wind so Dan and I took turns running outside in our shorts and light sweaters!!! We then spent the afternoon playing outside at the park and playing with all our new toys!! We are so abundantly blessed, we are truly gratful for this time of year and the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for Mary and Joseph and there willingness to accept our fathers plan. I hope that everyone who reads this has had a wonderful Christmas.
Love,

Dan, Cassie, and Jace

Cooper has some good moves and Jace well he is still figuring out how to groove. We feel very blessed this season to have such wonderful friends!!

Oopps Pics from this fall

Well obviously I am not so good at this here are the pics to go with my fall post.

Fall

We have had a very busy fall. Dan went hunting and got a big kill. I did not think much of it but Dan entered it in to a contest and won a gun!! While Dan was gone Jace and I played with cousins, and aunts and uncles. We also went to a friends house where there was a pink stroller and Jace could not put it down so I decided that while Dan was gone I would purchase one for us to play with at home and yes folks it has been a hit!! We also had the chance to go to a BYU game in Colorado. It was super fun but we forgot a heavy coat for Jace so he and I spent the second half of the game in the car while it was snowing. Not a big deal since it was nap time so he and I slept while we waited for the game to end. We have also spent lots of time playing outside, going to the library and just recently we decided to do some gymnastics with Jace!! It is so fun, I don't have pictures yet but I promise I will post as soon as I take some. Well that sums it up sorry this is out of order but I thought I should share what our family has been up to these past few months.

Dunn Family 2010

What a wonderful blessing it is to be surrounded by wonderful family!! I must say this year we have so much to be grateful for. Our lives are so blessed. During this week I have been reminded how much I am loved and how much our heavenly father loves us, what a blessing it is to know that we are forever. I just love this season and the opportunity it gives us to really count our blessings. I must say I feel a little overwhelmed with how blessed I am, I am so grateful for the journey that my life has traveled and just want to say thank you to all who have in some way guided mine and my families path.

We had so much fun hanging out with the family. This is our attempt to get a group shot minus Jace, it was to late and he was asleep. Our day started with a 6 hour drive to Lyman due to the wind we had to drive a little slow. Upon arriving at our destination we had a wonderful meal surrounded by great friends and family. Later that evening we had a Christmas show down. The kids dressed up to play all the parts of the nativity story, we sang songs, read the Christmas story and at the end we had presents!!! The kids loved it. Thank you grandma and grandpa for putting in all the effort to make Thanksgiving Day special!! We love you and appreciate all you do for all of us.

Happy Halloween everyone. Our little family has had a very busy week we started the week cutting pumpkins which was so fun!! I was a little nervous that Jace would not sit still long enough but to my surprise he loved it and was super mad when we were done!! Then this weekend we went to the trunk or treat. Jace was a dragon and it was so unique I did not see one dragon that looked like him. Jace was so good letting us get him all dressed up he was such a good sport. We also got to hang with the grandparents they decided to come join us for a lovely weekend. We found lots of time to play outside on the playground that is by our house, then of course we went tricker treating!! We went with our friends who just moved back from North Dakota. We only made it half way around our subdivision but Jace and little Piper had so much fun. I am feeling so blessed to have my sweet little family. I love this season that is approaching, wishing everyone a great and blessed holiday season.

It was very hard leaving Dan and Jace behind but it was nice to go and have some me time. The stay at the spa was filled with lots of good food, day hikes, spa treatments, and fun fitness classes along with the pool and of course the beautiful surroundings. Here are a few of the pics. There will be more to follow as the group I went with combines the photos.

Arizona Trip....

Jace and I had the chance to take a quick trip to Sierra Vista Arizona. For those of you who don't know where that is located just look close to the Mexico border!! It was definitely the desert, hot, humid and at times slightly windy but I really loved all the beautiful trees and shrubs that grow there. I thought it was very funny how everyone was cold (70') and I was still kinda hot!!! We decided to travel there to visit my good friend Linda and her precious family whom I met while Dan was in School in Missoula. It is so crazy how time flys by, it has been five years since I have seen her. Luckily for me being with her was like we were never apart!! We really enjoyed hanging out and just doing things with them like we were part of there family. Jace loved playing with kids. I think he really enjoyed following them around mostly because I think he felt like he was big like them. While we were there we went to soccer games, church(which by the way Jace was perfect lasted all 3 hours), ate some good food, got some good recipes which I have already tried(Linda the poppy seed bread is good I just wish I was better at baking, I somehow got the top on the bread out of the pan but the bottom stuck right to my bread pan=) maybe this is why I don't bake??)and we talked a lot about life, kids, craft, and of course shopping. What a blessing it is to know that no matter how far away our friends may be they always keep us close to there hearts. Linda, Nathan, Emma, Brenna, Jack, and Brigg thank you for opening your home to us. We felt very much at home. Emma and Brenna thanks for letting me take over your room and sleep in your bed=) Jack and Brigg Jace loved playing with you thanks for keeping him totally entertained. I hope you all know how much you are loved, and this will definitely not be the last time you will see us.

Jace playing the drum at the zoo!! He would have preferred to stay there all day banging away

Jace in the middle of saying "What is that?"

We had the chance this weekend to hang out with friends!!! I know crazy to think we really have them but we do. It was really fun seeing all our kids playing together, Jace was so happy to have little friends to play with. So our friends came Saturday night and we just hung out ate some food chatted, the boys watched football (yeah for BYU and there victory over Washington State) Sunday we decided to be bad and go to Denver for some Zoo and Aquarium fun. The kids loved the zoo, us adults were a little disappointed in the lack of animals must have been too hot! We then decided to get some food and due to the road construction and a not so good GPS we ended up at the Cheesecake Factory and I must say it was great!!! We then proceeded to go to the aquarium for some night time fish fun Jace loved all the fish he would just run around pointing and talking all about what he was seeing. A lot of the tanks are open and we would hold Jace up and he would stick his little hands in there so bad but hey he got to have a great experience right? As for Monday well we had a great breakfast, hung out and friends well they had to go back to work...boo for that. I promise our friends came I know I am lacking in pictures but our friend Dan has a camera and he is way better at taking pictures so he got the best ones. Dan, Betsy, Luke, Logan, and Claire we enjoyed having you and can't wait to meet up again with you soon!!!
