Addison is 2 months old!!

Addison is 2 months old she is weighing in at 9lbs 12 oz. She is a very calm baby. The only time she cries is when she is tired or hungry. At this point she really likes watching all the craziness that takes place on a daily basis. She is not a fan of being on her tummy and still fights sleep. I have found that holding her and walking around soothes her enough to put her down for a nice long snooze. Addison loves her bink but is still learning how to keep it in her mouth. I know she loves her bink because when it falls out of her mouth she cries for someone to come put it back in. She is beginning to smile , you have to smile really big at her and then she smiles back. She loves her brother. When she is awake her eyes seem to stay glued on him. When she sees her dad it seems her eyes get really big!! In my opinion she is trying to figure him out because he likes to make funny noises at her or tickle her face with his stubble. Addison is a precious little girl. How blessed this family is to have her in our lives.

Valentines Day

Here are a few pics of the kids. I tried to do a cute Valentines photo but Jace did not want to put on the cute shirt I had for him and was to busy playing that he really would not sit for a picture. We just hung out for Valentines day. I got to spend the day with my two favorite loves of all and then in the evening when kids were in bed I spent some time with my first love and made chicken enchiladas and we watch some recorded shows. I love just hanging out so for me it was a wonderful way to spend the holiday of love.

Our start to February

Well where to start.. Lets see February started good for us. We had a wonderful snow storm and come to think of it we have had snow a lot in the last few days. Last Sunday we noticed that Addison had what seemed to be a little cold. She was coughing and sneezing and seemed to be having trouble breathing. On Monday the cold seemed worse and I spent most of that day trying to make her comfortable. I was feeling bad for Jace because he was feeling left out due to all the attention Addie was getting. Jace loves bubbles so to help him feel loved we went and played bubble warriors!! Jace was having so much fun. Monday night was rough Addie would not eat she slept thru the night but mom did not. I was up every two hours trying to make sure my little girl was okay. The only noise Addie would make was her big adult cough and sneezing that literally shakes her whole body. Tuesday morning I had enough and decided to follow my mom instincts and take her in to the doctor. The doctor took one look and listen to her and said we would have to be admitted to the hospital to have her monitored since she had not eaten and was very lethargic, as well as her lungs were coarse and her oxygen was low. Talk about stressful. We ended up spending 5 days at the hospital due to RSV. Friday we were sent home for about 3 hours only to be readmitted due to low oxygen. Addie had to have an IV which was placed in her head because all the other five spots they tried kept blowing out. Thanks to prayers, great friends, and wonderful nursing staff we made it thru and today we found out that Addie no longer needed the oxygen that she was sent home with. I am so grateful that our bodies heal and that Addie is little enough to not remember any of the torture she had to endure. One last thing Addie is starting to smile =) We are blessed, we are home and we are happy. What a crazy start to February.

Addison is one month old

Oh my sweet little Addie, you are one month old as of Friday the 20th. I can't imagine my life without you. You have been such a sweet addition to our family. We are loving the sweet sounds you make. You only cry when we dress you or when your dad changes your diaper. You are very sweet. Sometimes you fight sleeping ,in my mind I think its because you can't stand a moment without your momma. You are very hard to burp but we are figuring you out and learned if we put you over our shoulder with your arms up within seconds you burp. You started out not liking the bink but just this week you decided you would try it out.. it was a hit and you really only use it during the day. At night you are so sleepy that you really don't remember that it is there for you. I love how when I am holding you close to my face you nudge your head as close as you can get. You also like when your brother talks to you. Dad is your favorite because he likes to blow on your tummy and make funny noises. When you look at your dad you open your eyes big and wide and then he calls you bug eyes. Don't be offended by this he has names for all of us!! Addie we love you and want you to know how in just 4 short weeks you have changed our home for the better. Love you my sweet little girl.

Inside Sand Box

Due to crazy wind and it being cold outside , I thought outside of the box today and thought hey lets make a little sand box for us to play with inside. We used a cookie sheet and some rice. Then we collected all our construction trucks and began loading and unloading all the rice we could stand. I then put some noodles in the sand for us to dig up and Jace began to eat the noodles and he said it was good? I don't know about him sometimes...Then he built a house which really was noodles all lined up in a row and said he was going to live there with granny and gramps. I asked him if mom and dad could live there and he said no your big. Just thought we would share our little fun project for the afternoon.

A Jace Filled Afternoon

Here are a few pics of our wonderful afternoon. Addison was fast asleep so Jace and I played!! We played trains, barrel of monkeys, and he even allowed me a few quick moments to practice taking pictures of him!! While playing with the monkeys Jace sang the no more monkeys jumping on the bed song and made sure to show me all the moves a monkey makes. After about 2 hours I told Jace we needed to check on the baby and he ran right to her and gave her a big kiss. He is always so sweet to her. He really is enjoying being a big brother. I am in love with these two. Happy Friday.

Well It is January

Well I can't believe that Christmas is over first and foremost. The thing that is puzzling to me is how fast time goes by when you are sleep deprived. I woke up today and thought can it really be the fifth of January all ready and really I have a two week old little girl!! The last few weeks have brought lots of highs and lows. I love being a mom but it is a little overwhelming trying to manage my time between two kids. I must say Jace has been doing really well being a big brother. He is so tender with his little sister and really just wants to be apart of all the action. He loves holding and loving on little Addie. He even at times has woken up while I am feeding to just come sit by feet and keep me company. What a blessing Jace has been. Boy I wish he could wake up every two hours to feed little Addie instead of me but that is not how it goes. If you know me well then you will understand why I am envious of sleep. I require a lot of it and for some reason I don't respond well without it. I do know however that give me a few more weeks and hopefully my body will adjust but for now if I could dream I would dream of sleep!! All joking aside I love little Addie and I love the sweet spirit she is bringing into our home. It has been so fun to see Dan with his little girl as well as being Jaces buddy when I am busy with Addie. We are loving this fresh start to the new year. Happy New Year Ya'll
