Life lately

It seems like forever since I last posted. These past few weeks have been a little crazy. Jace started at a real daycare!! It has been a rough transition for both Jace and I. Our mornings are a little more hectic and they usually end with me going to work and crying or texting my sweet husband how hard it is to leave Jace with someone else while he is screaming and crying for his momma. I am hoping it is harder on me than him. I keep asking the workers at the daycare how he is doing and the reassure me that he does great and only cries for a small moment. Uhh it is so hard sorry to repeat that but it is the big stress in my life at the moment. As for me besides going to work my day is spent training for the big half marathon in May!! I am super surprised how fast my speed and endurance is coming back since my injury. I am also trying to work on my jewlery making skills, baking skills, and I am trying to add variety to our dinners. On top of that I enjoy the moments I have playing with cars, trucks, trains, blocks, puzzles, playing the bucking horse and tickle monster. Dan is busy with work as always he is so dedicated to his job and is so sincere to his clients. In his spare time he is playing with motor cycles the type you ride on dirt with and do crazy jumps. He is also gearing up for camping and hunting. I enjoy his love for the outdoors, I am excited for this summer because I think Jace will really enjoy playing in the dirt, and riding on the 4-wheeler.. Jace is growing up way to fast. He is such a talker. He loves to repeat anything anyone says so we have to be very careful what we say around him=) The other day we were at the mall and Dan asked me what are you thinking ?(because I let the stroller fall backward) and Jace totally repeated what Dan said it was so cute. At church he pointed our there was a clock but it did not totally sound like clock if you know what I mean... He has a bit of an obsession for cars he knows all there names it is so cute to watch him talk about them. He also has a love for the vacuum. I think it is a since of comfort to him and I must admit it could be because I love the vacuum so much. A few weeks ago he woke up from a nap and was a little grumpy so I put him down in is crib and he climbed out and hit his lip on the chair and he started yelling for the vacuum it was sad and funny all at once. He is so fun, I am so lucky to be his mom. We are loving that winter is coming to an end. For Jace's 2nd birthday we purchased an outside playground. I am sure Dan is super excited to put all the pieces together. I can't wait to watch and take lots of pictures. In two weeks we are taking a family vacation to San Diego kind of like a last free plan ride for Jace. We are going with our friends the Merrells and we can't wait for Sea World, Zoo's, and of course the beach. Sorry for the ranting but I just felt the need to update everyone on our life. Love, The Dunns even though I (Cassie) wrote this I felt the need to include Dan and Jace because I know they would want to speak if they were not sleeping=)

Multi-tasking

Tonight Jace was so funny!! He kept asking me for "Cars" the movie and so I kept telling him after we eat, or after we brush teeth so he grabbed his tooth brush and said "do it" and then grabbed the DVD player and watched Cars and brushed his teeth at the same time!!! Gotta love little boys and there love for race cars.

A crazy end to Febuary

Where to start poor Jace has been not feeling so hot for the last 2 weeks or so.... He started out with a double ear infection that resulted in antibiotic (Amoxacilion) then 2 days after his 10 day course he came down with a fever...we then went back to the Doctor who said"ahhh I should have given him more days of antibiotic so she decided to try a different one because his ears were still red so she put him on a Zpack....3 days into that Jace developed fever, swollen limbs (no joke) his left hand was 2x its normal size, he had huge targets all over his little body, and his feet swelled up so he would not walk....we went back to the doctor and they said hmm looks like he is allergic lets hope it does not get worse or you will have to go to the hospital....Gotta love doctors. Jace is doing well now on Sunday he seemed to be much better and I actually felt like his body was getting all the antibiotic out. He has been running and telling me NO a lot, but for know it is cute and I am loving his little attitude!!!! I must say it feels like sweet bliss to see Jace eating and happy, it is no fun to watch your little guy be sick and miserable.

Video of Jace talking while stuffy!!

Last week we had some sickness=( Jace had a double ear infection, with fever, and all the symptoms of a head cold. I felt so bad because when I dropped him off with our friend he seemed a little fussy and I thought oh he just did not sleep well but by 12 in the after noon our little man was not feeling good. I ended up leaving work early to get him and we wen to the doctor. He was so funny while we were there he knew that the Dr's office is were we go to get shots because as soon as we were in the treatment room he started to freak out. We saw big tears, and lots of screaming.. When we got home he seemed okay, I think the cookie I gave him while at the store getting his antibiotic helped. I mean hello if a cookie does not cure the common cold then we are all doomed right? Jace was actually very mellow for having ears that hurt. We had a good few days of being lazy, I mostly enjoyed having my little guy right at my side at all times.(No Joke) I guess you gotta take the loves while you can sick or not sick!! Jace is so fun these days and we just wanted to share with you this fun video of him talking while he is sick. Sorry for the snot shot but we thought it made this moment memorable.

Family Fun

Check Spelling

These past 2 weekends we have been blessed to have the company of family. Jace loves seeing his grandma and grandpa. He is even starting to call them that. We practice a lot looking at pictures and saying who everyone is. We also got to see Aunt Natalie and Uncle Tige or Tiger as Jace calls him. Parker and Colter came as well and Jace was so happy!! He has been asking about them for a while now and then they decided to come. If he could say this he would say "Dreams do come true mom" . We had so much fun playing with all the family. What a blessing it is to have them in our lives. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to drive up and see us!!! (And sorry you have to eat my poor cooking, I really am working on it=))

Baby it's WARM outside!!!

Today as in Friday, since today is actually Sunday, was the warmest day ever, Sixty degrees with a light breeze!! Ah the joys of living in Cheyenne. Since it was so nice we decided to have a fun day outside at the park. Jace had so much fun running around with his buddies Cooper and Piper. We played on the swings, slides, and of course the merry go round. It was sad to leave the park and go home for fear that the cold weather would sneak back in, and not to my surprise it is Sunday with over cast skies and cold. Oh well at least we were able to get outside for a day and dream of the summer that awaits us.

A Glimse into our night routine

Ahh is all I can say. I love being a mom=) Lately I have been reminded how blessed I am to have a sweet little boy to come home to after a hard days work. Our evening routine has gotten to be a time of chasing my stomping dinosaur boy!!! He loves to eat dinner and tell me that he is "done" Even though he has barely eaten anything. We take a bath, brush teeth and then the wild rumpus starts!! I then try to get him dressed but he usually out runs me and the clothes come after our fun!! Jace loves to run down the hall and he then falls to the floor and says "I going to get you", of course I tickle and smother him with kisses. He also likes to get onto the couch and flip the switches to turn on and off the fire place. I find it funny that he still has to pull the pillows off the couch to help push himself up!! Lately he has been stomping like a dinosaur and jumping up and down. Our conclusion for the night ends with reading lots of books followed by songs, and of course prayers. We then (Dan and I) turn off the lights and turn on the stars. I just feel like when life gets to be tough or hard to handle we always have our kids to brighten our day. I love that Jace greets me with a smile and yells mama, and how he is very much so a mamma's boy ! I am so grateful for family and the joy the bring to me. I am content to just BE.
