Big boy bed

Today has marked the first week of Jace in his big boy bed. Now I have herd horror stories of kids getting up numerous times and so I prepared myself for a long few weeks of no sleep and crabby child, but to my surprise Jace has done really well. I must admit that having friends with boys that are around the same age helped because Jace always wants to be like his friends. We decided it best to start with the changing his crib to a toddler bed on a Friday so that way we could have the weekend to sleep more if needed. Jace was so cute, we put the bed together and he was so excited he kept saying this is my big boy bed!! The first two nights we stayed up late so going to bed was really easy , then on Sunday we put him to bed at his normal time and he went down okay and all I could think was this is to easy then I turned around and jumped!! Jace was standing there and when he saw that he scared me he started to laugh and say I scared mommy. That has been the only times he has gotten out. He does however like to get up and sneak into our bed in the morning. Unfortunately he does not go back to sleep he just asks over and over to watch his toons. Our little guy is growing up so fast and I am so proud of how good he has been doing with the changes we are making in his little world.

Camping pics and our complete adventure

Our camping adventure began on Friday after I completed my day off work. We left Cheyenne and headed to the in mountains Laramie for a fun filled weekend of dirt, and more dirt!! We pulled our new camper up the mountain and arrived at our destination, Lake Owen. We found a nice cozy spot for our camp out that was nestled among other camping lovers, which was good and bad. When we unloaded the first sounds we herd were that of some sweet mariachi music, and barking dogs. Now if you know our dog barking dogs and people make for a disaster of a trip when it comes to the dog. I promise I tried to give him away while I was there but there were no takers. Our first night Jace was so cute, he carried his own camp chair, which was Lightening McQueen!!! He also helped his dad get sticks to build a fire which made him feel very big. Saturday morning we woke early thanks to Jace and the sunshine and ventured out to see some beauty of the earth. Dan is always lucky so for those of you who want to hunt you should go with him because he always sees animals. So thanks to Dan we had the opportunity to see a buck deer that was in the velvet, a moose which I spotted, and some elk. After our driving adventure we took Jace on the 4-wheeler which he loves but due to the lack of sleep he actually fell asleep while we were being bumped around on our drive through the mountains twice!! We tried many times to get Jace to nap but I think he was worried he would miss out. Lake Owen is very pretty so we took time to just walk around the lake and to our surprise we discovered a train on the trail!! Jace was so excited, of course we had to stop our walk and let him play on the train!!! On our hike besides trains and water we got to stop and see caterpillars and other low walking bugs. Jace was so excited to try and pick bugs up on the stick. As for what we ate, hot dogs are a must when camping. Dan wanted to make fire grilled pizza so he was in charge on our last night and while I was feeding Jace Dan was busy cooking our amazing dinner!! Funny thing though Dan burnt the pizza so much we could not eat it. Our second best option for dinner was breakfast which was eggs sausage and yummy greasy potatoes. Of course we did smores and melted star bursts which are amazing on an open fire.
All in all no matter how much dirt I encountered I enjoyed our camping trip. I must say having a trailer is very nice. Lessons we learned or I learned was pack more pants and socks!! I love the outdoors and enjoy all the beautiful things we get to see. I am so glad that I have my little family to enjoy the outdoors with.

Our first camping adventure

First here are a few videos of some of the wild life we saw on our first morning up at Lake Owen in Laramie. Who would of thought we would see a beautiful trophy deer in the velvet with the sun hitting him at just the right moment for us to see him!! The bull moose we missed on the first pass don't really know why we did not see him but on the way back to camp I yelled a moose and there he was!! Can you believe he was only 50 yards from us? Hope you enjoy the beauty we saw=)

Such a great cheese smile after having some yummy ice cream

Summer has been really good to us. We have spent most of our time outside doing lots of little projects starting with getting our garden going. And to our surprise it is doing really well our tomato plants are pretty much taking over the garden. Our next project was building a shed and I say our because of course I am there for moral support and I did help hold things up so Dan could nail the pieces together. Our other little projects have been to clean the weeds out of the rock, and just the everyday things you do to keep the yard looking groomed. Dan does a really good job with all the outdoor things at our home, and keeps thinking of new ways to improve our home inside and out. As for summer fun we have been busy hanging out at the spray park, playing at playgrounds including the one in our back yard, and hanging out in our swimming pool to stay cool as the weather her keeps getting hotter and hotter.
Our newest addition to the Dunn collection of toys is a toy hauler!! This weekend we went down to Utah a purchased a toy hauler so our little family can enjoy some fun in the outdoors but yet still feel the comforts of home. Since we went down to Utah we decided to take some time to hang with family . Jace loves his cousins Colter and Parker and just last week while out on a run he kept asking to see his Parker. He also loves his granny and gramps and just the other day at wendys he saw a lady and yelled thats my granny. So needless to say Jace was so happy to spend the weekend with all his favorite peoples!! We had fun shopping in Utah and then we enjoyed staying in Rock Sprigs camping in our new toy hauler and hanging with family. While we were there Jace saw Parkers "motorcycle" which is a little 50 and he jumped on it and began making he best motorcycle noise. He really wanted to ride the bike really bad so Dan took Jace on a little ride. He told me when it was all done that he wanted to buy the motorcycle!!! He is to cute. Life is good for us we are blessed beyond measure. We are happy to still be within a days drive to our family and really enjoy our time with them. We love summer and plan to spend the rest of these beautiful days (when not working that is) camping and just hanging out and enjoying the sunshine!!

Family Picture Time

Here are some new family photos!! We are so lucky to have a friend who has a secret talent for taking pictures. Unfortunately for us every time we think we should do pics Jace gets sick or decides he is going to wake up so early that by 9 in the morning he is sir crouch. We made it through thought thanks to having the help of the photographers husband and of course Jaces best friend. Hope you enjoy the pics as much as we are. Coming soon will be some pics of Jace without his cheesy parents=) Thank you so much Kasey for spending a Holiday morning with us you rock.

May and June update

It is so crazy how fast time goes!! I got to thinking the other day how much has happened in the last two months. So sorry this might bore some of you but I thought it appropriate to give a little update on the Dunn family.
Lets start with May, on May 2nd I did my first ever half marathon which is 13.2 miles. I was super excited to do it and even got to spend the night in Fort Collins all by myself which was a blessing but yet a stress because I missed my little family. Now about the race. I had to wake up at 3:30am to be at the bus by 4 am to then stand and wait in the mountains for the race to start. Luckily I got on the right bus and they got lost so I did not have to wait to long in the 25 degree weather. I finished the race in an 1:55 my goal was 1:45 so I was only 10 min off which means Dan is still the title holder in our family. For me though that was the fastest I had run in my whole running experience the clocked me at and 8min 45 sec mile. All in all I was super tired but so glad I set a goal and finished it!! May came and went really fast for the Dunn's we spent lots of time hanging with friends and playing outside when the weather permitted.

As for June we started lots of projects. For instance working on our yard, planting a garden and Dan decided we need a shed so he has been putting that together on nights when it is not raining. I have been helping him as much as possible but this year my allergies have kicked my butt and of course Jace is more curious than ever and wants to be mom and dads big helper.

To end June we helped Dan's parents move to there official retirement spot in Nephi Utah, played in Colorado at a Motor cross event , and on Dans birthday our yard got flocked with pink flamingos!!!(shhhh I know who did it but I will never tell).

So I wanted to save the best news for last.......We found out we are expecting a new addition to our family on Dec 31st!!!! Currently I am 15 weeks and things are going good. I am tired as ever but food loves me and I love food so life is good. We will find out what we are having in August so be on the look out for those results soon.
We have been so blessed and I know I say that a lot but I find myself pondering all that I have and feel so grateful to have so much love around me.

Pee in the potty!!

Tonight was a good night!! We had some great dinner with friends and yes Jace peed in the potty for the first time=) I had this feeling (as I was asking Dan to help me with bath time), that Jace would actually go while I was busy multi tasking. Guess what? He did. Dan had him busy fixing his car that he finally just let loose. We are so proud of him. He was so excited at the time he kept saying poo and pee in the potty momma more. Now as for these pictures. The first one was a month ago while we were putting together his play house and it is a great pic of him because he is smiling really big which I thought appropriate for this occasion, the second is tonight but he was not happy. He was so tired that he just kept crying until his daddy held and rocked him to sleep. My little toddler so grown up in some ways but yet still my little baby. I love my little family makes me happy.
