Such a great cheese smile after having some yummy ice cream

Summer has been really good to us. We have spent most of our time outside doing lots of little projects starting with getting our garden going. And to our surprise it is doing really well our tomato plants are pretty much taking over the garden. Our next project was building a shed and I say our because of course I am there for moral support and I did help hold things up so Dan could nail the pieces together. Our other little projects have been to clean the weeds out of the rock, and just the everyday things you do to keep the yard looking groomed. Dan does a really good job with all the outdoor things at our home, and keeps thinking of new ways to improve our home inside and out. As for summer fun we have been busy hanging out at the spray park, playing at playgrounds including the one in our back yard, and hanging out in our swimming pool to stay cool as the weather her keeps getting hotter and hotter.
Our newest addition to the Dunn collection of toys is a toy hauler!! This weekend we went down to Utah a purchased a toy hauler so our little family can enjoy some fun in the outdoors but yet still feel the comforts of home. Since we went down to Utah we decided to take some time to hang with family . Jace loves his cousins Colter and Parker and just last week while out on a run he kept asking to see his Parker. He also loves his granny and gramps and just the other day at wendys he saw a lady and yelled thats my granny. So needless to say Jace was so happy to spend the weekend with all his favorite peoples!! We had fun shopping in Utah and then we enjoyed staying in Rock Sprigs camping in our new toy hauler and hanging with family. While we were there Jace saw Parkers "motorcycle" which is a little 50 and he jumped on it and began making he best motorcycle noise. He really wanted to ride the bike really bad so Dan took Jace on a little ride. He told me when it was all done that he wanted to buy the motorcycle!!! He is to cute. Life is good for us we are blessed beyond measure. We are happy to still be within a days drive to our family and really enjoy our time with them. We love summer and plan to spend the rest of these beautiful days (when not working that is) camping and just hanging out and enjoying the sunshine!!

Family Picture Time

Here are some new family photos!! We are so lucky to have a friend who has a secret talent for taking pictures. Unfortunately for us every time we think we should do pics Jace gets sick or decides he is going to wake up so early that by 9 in the morning he is sir crouch. We made it through thought thanks to having the help of the photographers husband and of course Jaces best friend. Hope you enjoy the pics as much as we are. Coming soon will be some pics of Jace without his cheesy parents=) Thank you so much Kasey for spending a Holiday morning with us you rock.

May and June update

It is so crazy how fast time goes!! I got to thinking the other day how much has happened in the last two months. So sorry this might bore some of you but I thought it appropriate to give a little update on the Dunn family.
Lets start with May, on May 2nd I did my first ever half marathon which is 13.2 miles. I was super excited to do it and even got to spend the night in Fort Collins all by myself which was a blessing but yet a stress because I missed my little family. Now about the race. I had to wake up at 3:30am to be at the bus by 4 am to then stand and wait in the mountains for the race to start. Luckily I got on the right bus and they got lost so I did not have to wait to long in the 25 degree weather. I finished the race in an 1:55 my goal was 1:45 so I was only 10 min off which means Dan is still the title holder in our family. For me though that was the fastest I had run in my whole running experience the clocked me at and 8min 45 sec mile. All in all I was super tired but so glad I set a goal and finished it!! May came and went really fast for the Dunn's we spent lots of time hanging with friends and playing outside when the weather permitted.

As for June we started lots of projects. For instance working on our yard, planting a garden and Dan decided we need a shed so he has been putting that together on nights when it is not raining. I have been helping him as much as possible but this year my allergies have kicked my butt and of course Jace is more curious than ever and wants to be mom and dads big helper.

To end June we helped Dan's parents move to there official retirement spot in Nephi Utah, played in Colorado at a Motor cross event , and on Dans birthday our yard got flocked with pink flamingos!!!(shhhh I know who did it but I will never tell).

So I wanted to save the best news for last.......We found out we are expecting a new addition to our family on Dec 31st!!!! Currently I am 15 weeks and things are going good. I am tired as ever but food loves me and I love food so life is good. We will find out what we are having in August so be on the look out for those results soon.
We have been so blessed and I know I say that a lot but I find myself pondering all that I have and feel so grateful to have so much love around me.

Pee in the potty!!

Tonight was a good night!! We had some great dinner with friends and yes Jace peed in the potty for the first time=) I had this feeling (as I was asking Dan to help me with bath time), that Jace would actually go while I was busy multi tasking. Guess what? He did. Dan had him busy fixing his car that he finally just let loose. We are so proud of him. He was so excited at the time he kept saying poo and pee in the potty momma more. Now as for these pictures. The first one was a month ago while we were putting together his play house and it is a great pic of him because he is smiling really big which I thought appropriate for this occasion, the second is tonight but he was not happy. He was so tired that he just kept crying until his daddy held and rocked him to sleep. My little toddler so grown up in some ways but yet still my little baby. I love my little family makes me happy.

Our fun filled weekend!!

This was a weekend full of fun!! We had 4 specific things that had to be accomplished in just a very short and fast 2 days. On Friday we were lucky to have Dans parents here to share and celebrate this very special weekend. We went to dinner and just played and enjoyed being with family. On Saturday we geared up for our big dinner for Sunday, but the best part was we took Jace to his first movie at the movie theater!!! We went to see Rio and Jace did awesome he loved all the colors and music. It was so cute to watch his face light up when the previews were on he would say "here it comes" after each one. Jace loved that he could eat all the popcorn and candy he wanted. Lets just say the candy monster is out in full force. Saturday night we died Easter eggs. Jace thought it was fun. He did pretty good until we gave him an egg to do by himself . In one blink the egg was dropped into the bowl and vinegar colored water was every where!! Jace thought that it was so cool he even yelled " I did it". Jace really loves stickers and the egg kit came with a bunch. The joke between him and myself is that I put stickers on my face at church and he thinks it is funny. Granny was trying to put the stickers on the egg and Jace kept saying to put them on his face so yup you guessed it we did and after that well he turned into a crazy man and was running around the house yelling he was flying!!! We really think he was having some candy withdrawals because it was 8:30 pm and he was full of energy.
Sunday we woke to the Easter bunny bringing Jace a fun basket of Thomas the Train goodies. Jace was so happy he kept carrying his basket around and talking about it. We then got Jace and ourselves dressed for Church. Jace looked so grown up and handsome. After Church we did a celebration of Dans parents 41st anniversary. How fun to have 3 events to celebrate in one day!! After a much needed nap Jace got to wake up to balloons!! He was so happy to play with them!! In the evening we ate a wonderful ham dinner, opened presents and ate some good cake. Jace loved his books and cars that he got!! Jace also got a outside play house that his dad has been working on for weeks. Due to bad weather we are not all the way done so pictures will come soon!! Dan finished the slide, so after we ate dinner we braved the cold and played!! I can't wait for better weather, but Jace did not care he loved going down the slide and swinging!! We had to bribe him with candy to get him back inside!! I think it is very safe to say that our little man was happy!!

I must admit it this is a bittersweet moment for me. I miss my little baby but I love the little boy that Jace is becoming. I can't even believe how fast these last 2 years have gone. I am feeling a little sad that I wished all those sleepless nights away!!! I am so grateful to be able to be a mother. I have learned so much about what a mothers love really means. I love my life and I love my little man!!!

Sick Boys

We have had a weird weekend. Friday I had to work to make up for the Monday I took off so for me that ruined my weekend. So Saturday we worked on Jace's birthday present(pictures to come soon) and then we went to Olive Garden for dinner. That night around 11:30 Jace started throwing up and the throwing up continued until 10 am Sunday morning. We ended up taking Jace to the Doctor and getting him some sweet medicine to help with the nausea and by the evening Jace could eat a little without being sick. I was lucky to not get sick but Dan did not quite make it. He started to get sick at about 3 in the afternoon. That left me to cleaning up all the mess of puck on everything. We seriously went thru every sheet in our house, and both boys were mostly in bed. Poor boys!! Its no fun seeing them sick. Let's hope this next weekend goes better or shall I say goes without vomit!!

Ahh... vacation what more can I say!! We had the opportunity to go on vacation this year and thought April would be a great month to get in on the free flying for Jace so we started looking for some where to go and San Diego California kept coming up on our searches as a great place to go for a family trip. Funny insight, our friends the Merrell's had the same plan in mind and so we planned our trip with them and had a big group" family" trip for our vacation.

Day one was filled with waking up at 3:30 am to get all our things done for our 9:00 flight out of Denver. When we arrived to San Diego we were tired( already) and hungry. When we got to our hotel we were met with lots of ducks who were wondering were there food was that we were supposed to be feeding them. We had lots of fun feeding ducks. We even got to feed them out of our hands. Jace was a little to scared to let them eat off his hands but he was quick to throw them lots of food.

DAY 2 was filled with Sea world and lots of it!! We saw dolphins, whales (Shamu to be exact, which Jace fell asleep at so we went back for the night show so he would not miss out=)) We also saw sharks, and the beluga whales which all of us including the Merrel's were calling them baby beluga and singing the song to the kids. Jace and Cooper love that song. Jace and Cooper also had the chance to ride carnival rides!!! The kids loved it and were saying "more" when the rides stopped. Then that night Dan and I had a date and went to the pier and Dan had sea food at Joe's Crab shack.

Day 3 was filled with lots of walking, now let me let you know that even though we were on vacation we were still working out and I was still working on my running so I was so tired by the end of the day from all the walking. We went to the wild animal kingdom which was cool very pretty but as for animals it was really hard to see them due to them being in a more natural environment=( On the upside the kids had 2 good naps ( naps were hard to come bye because there was so much to do and not tons of time to fit it all in)one on the way down to the park and one on the way home which made it a perfect night for some good authentic mexican food with freshly made tortillas. YUM!!! Jace loved the tortillas so much he even started eating all the butter that came with them. I choose at that moment to pick my battles( calories are calories right?) Oh just a fun side note about the animal kingdom, we did get to feed some birds with nectar which was super fun because they just flew right to you when you walked inside there cage. We also went to a butterfly expo where you got to be inside a big room filled with lots of butterflies and they would land on you!!

Day 4 was my favorite day because it was our day to go to the beach and just have some fun!! It was so fun to watch Jace dance and play in the sand. He loved looking for seashells, and standing in the water and yelling here it comes to the next wave rolling in. At La Jolla cove we saw the sea lions, which was really cool. We went to La Jolla beach and Coronado beach that day. Coronado beach was really pretty the sand looked like it had gold in it!! To bad it was not so or we could have come back to Wyoming rich!!

Day 5 was a morning and afternoon of playing in the sand and enjoying the fresh ocean breeze. It was a bitter sweet day because I loved the weather and the ocean but I missed my bed, house, dog and the convenience of just being home.

We had a wonderful trip as a family and as friends. We are so blessed to be able to do these fun things and hope you all enjoy them as well.

Love,

The Dunns
